Time and the River
Time and the River is about love and relationships that take the reader from the Caribbean to Canada and back. On the island of San Souci, Janet and Abe had grown up and fallen in love despite the cultural traditions that threatened to separate them. But in Janet's eyes, Abe had committed the unforgiveable when she learned that another woman was carrying his child. She had vowed never to see him again. Almost forty years later, Abe shows up at Janet's office with the strangest request. He has been diagnosed with a life-threatening illness and has only a short time to live. His dying wish is for Janet to spend one day with him on their beloved island of San Souci. Janet is torn between her family and a man whom she now realizes has truly loved her. She agrees to spend some time with him on the island of Cuba because it is more convenient. However, while there, unforeseen circumstances present the opportunity for a trip to San Souci.
